Standing out in Scandinavia: how we positioned SoScale as the №1 creative performance agency

A complete brand that grabs attention everywhere
SoScale bridges the gap between stunning visuals and data-driven results. They create ads that convert because content is what matters. But they needed a scalable identity that could stand out from cookie-cutter agency competitors who all look the same and grow across markets and touchpoints without losing brand recognition.
We were challenged to position SoScale as the №1 performance creative agency in Scandinavia with a content-first mindset that drives real growth.

Strategy that scales
We started with proper brand discovery—analyzing their brief and mapping associations. Then we audited what they already had and studied their competitors to find the gaps. We identified two strategic directions they could take.
Concept 1: Scale-based modularity
Built around their name—everything scales. Modular grid system, bold typography contrasts, unified visual components. Clean, repeatable, instantly recognizable.
Concept 2: Human-centered performance
Real people focus with handwritten fonts, edgy modern outlines, and creative illustrations. More emotional and personality-driven.
A standout brand built to scale
The entire identity system is built around the concept of scaling because that's literally what they help clients do. Each color is a cue in the conversion story—moving from baseline to profit. We chose Scale Black, Canvas White, and SoScale Pink as lead colors, plus five colors from graphite to mist as secondary colors for backgrounds, tags, and button accents.

Bold graphics that command attention
Dynamic 3D illustrations weren't just decorative—they were designed for clear, direct communication. We used a low-angle camera perspective and a metallic finish that works with almost any color scheme and adds a premium feel without being flashy. Even small icons look bigger and more impressive when shot from below—they appear to levitate. It's a psychological trick that reinforces the “scale” concept.
Photography that tells the right story
We didn't just say “good photos”—we showed them exactly what works and what doesn't. Good vs. bad examples with clear explanations of why certain shots support the brand and others undermine it.
We established principles for team photos, portfolios, and case studies, as well as hero banners: hero-first framing, a muted color palette with micro-accents, authentic expressions, minimal retouching, live demos inside real devices, an immersive showcase/experience, a unified color mood, and an 80/20 visual-to-text ratio.

Visuals that work across every touchpoint
We created examples for various content: new team member announcements, member interviews, text-heavy posts, and case study posts.
Motion that brings brands to life
Scale represents growth, obviously. But we added depth to make it more sophisticated—objects that are farther appear smaller, closer objects appear larger. It works on multiple levels.
We created detailed guidelines so their team could create consistent animations without starting from scratch every time. As a bonus, we included Blender files with step-by-step instructions because their motion designer doesn't use Blender yet, but they wanted to implement this into their workflow.
